FAQs

Our classes are designed for children of all abilities aged eighteen months to fifteen years old. Your child does not need previous dancing, singing or acting experience to join.

No auditions are needed – just a willingness to give it a go.

No, we ask that children are dropped off at the start time and left in the capable hands of our coaches. In our experience having parents watching classes changes the dynamic, makes students feel self-conscious and often hinders the freedom the children feel during our classes.

‘Dance like no one is watching’ – Mark Twaine

No, there is no compulsory uniform. We are parents ourselves and know how many outgoings there are so we didn’t want to add another cost onto your plate. We encourage individuality and expression and that can extend to clothes to. We do have branded t-shirts and hoodies that you can purchase [insert purchase mechanism] but they are completely optional. To support families and the environment we also offer a uniform exchange where families can [insert exchange process].

Wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement and trainers. For dance lessons we will often practice in bare feet or socks, no special dance shoes or clothing are needed.

Bring a drinks bottle, and particularly if your child is doing more than one class they are welcome to bring along some snacks. The children often sit down together for a break and eat and drink together.

Absolutely not. Many theatre schools, especially those with a more commercial focus, promote ‘triple threat’ classes. In this type of school Your child would attended an extended theatre school session covering singing, dancing and acting. If your child is interested in a career in performing arts then this helpful to master all three disciplines. However if your four year old just loves to dance then we say let them just do dance (or singing, or drama)

No, we have chosen to create a school that focuses on enjoyment and life skills. We feel children are already tested, measured and examined heavily enough at school and other activity providers. Attainment of a given standard is not our goal. Creating additional pressure and expectations for children does not fit with our ethos. As an inclusive theatre school enjoyment and progression are our focus.

No we don’t. We are a theatre school for fun and the development of life skills. Our aim is not to create professional performers, though that’s not to say our pupils don’t take part in external products, adverts and paid work if it was right for them.
